In your opinion, who makes the best replacment seat covers, Al Knoch or Romeo Engineering? Anyone out there seen them sided by side? How about the rest of the components,i.e. springs, foam cushions? I had a restorer tell me that neither one of these manufacturers do the '56/'57 pattern correctly, with the waffle pattern "portions" at the binding seams like the originals. These will be used for a judged car and I would like to have as close to original as possible. Thanks.

Re: correct replacemet seat covers C1
Garry...
Delivery was a very big problem, but more important, the carpets did not fit, requiring t******* on the drivers side and were short at the very top on the passenger side. The dash pad and seats from al installed just like "downtown"- Top

Re: correct replacemet seat covers C1
Classic Chevy World is where I have always gotten my 55 or 57 seat covers or carpet, but they only do 55 to 57 . Have never seen better or had better service. Many of thier parts are the same for the 55 -57 Corvette.- Top

Re: correct replacemet seat covers C1
Up until several years ago, no one heat-formed the Waffle Depressions in the manner, and hence appearance, of the oringinal waffle vinyl on the seats , door panes, headliner and kicks. Al Knoch is now supplying the waffle depressions just like the orig equip supplier did in 55 thru 57 for the 56 and 57 vets. See judging manual for a description of the shape of the waffle depressions at the borders of the seat covers, door panels etc. .. I have no experience with Romeo so unaware of their handling of the shape of the waffle depressions at the borders.mike- Top

Re: correct replacemet seat covers C1
Mike, that is what I was looking for. The pattern today seems to be full "squares' whereas the judging manual and those originals that you rarely see have the 'segments" or almost odd shaped triangles at the bindngs and where the door panels follow the contour of the door etc. I will double check with AK to be sure but thanks for addressing my original question.- Top
