I am replacing the liners on my 9 leaf springs. In my 66 Corvette specification book it says there should be a liner between every one except 6 & 7. Which direction do I start counting from? The longest leaf or shortest leaf? I actually have 10 leafs altogether counting the ones with the bushing holes, do I count that 1 also, OR.....do I have too many? Help!!!!!!!

Count from the bottom, including the main one with the holes. You'll see that the leafs change to almost a straight shape starting with #7, with no liner between 6 and 7. If your spring is correct, you should have a total of 9, including the main with the holes.- Top

All the leaves "count", including the bottom leaf with the bushing retainers. Original springs for standard suspension 1963-74 Corvettes had 9 leaves. For 1963, there were 9 curved leaves. For 1964-74, there were 6 curved leaves and 3 "flat" leaves.
Some aftermarket springs and some replacements may have 10 leaves. Also, some aftermarket and replacement springs may have 9 leaves with a rectangular spacer plate at the top to make up for differences in spring leaf thickness that some replacement springs use. This plate, if present, does not count as a leaf.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
