    C1 Parts

    Hi,

I've just purchased a Carter carburator and a new distributor but I want to verify these parts on correctness so please help me out here!

I don't want to disassemble the carburated to find more numbers since it is already tuned for the engine by the rebuilders and all the screws are sealed with dots of yellow locking stuff. The following numbers can be found on the device:

    * on the top part 6-I672 or 6-1672 -9. or .6- and the text CARbureTER
    * on the intake valve states 7-173
    * on the middle part I465 ot 1465 and Carter WCFB
    * on the fuel intake 170-583
    * on one of the rotating middle parts 263
    * on the valve's underneath 2x 2-170 (copper coloured) and 2x 2-101 (catmium coloured)
furthermore it has a sticker stating C456 on it

On the distributor I can't find any numbers. Where should I look for them ?

greetings and thanks for your help,

    Re: C1 Parts

The distributor part number is stamped onto a shiny, narrow foil band and the band is wrapped around the base of the distributor, just above the top of the intake manifold.

Have you checked your 1959 AIM to see if the carb numbers are listed? I know the 1960 AIM has carb numbers.

      Re: C1 Parts

The 1672 number on the airhorn has been used from '63 to '64 that I know of. It may cover more years.

1465 on the fuel bowl body is from 1964.

A model 2818S WCFB was used in 1959 and 1960 and had an airhorn number of 1354 and a fuel body of 1208.

However, that is from carbs observed and one thing I have observed is that more and more are built from parts and may or may not match. So take this information as a guideline and not as gospel.
