    67 tranny bearing noise

Just wondering what you folks thought is normal regarding Muncie 4 sp noise. It has always been a bit noisy in gears, but I am specifically wondering about while in neutral with clutch engaged. I have noticed that with the engine idling and in neutral, as I engage and disengage the clutch, that I can hear what sounds like bearing noise coming and going. What do y'all think. How much is normal? Shound I be able to hear the throwout bearing??

This sounds like the throw out bearing to me. As you engage the clutch, pressure is applied to the throwout bearing, hence the noise you hear.

The noise I am referring to is present when the clutch is out (tranny in neutral), but not present when the clutch is pressed in.
