I'm currently changing my 4 rear u joints to new units without grease fittings. >Stronger I'm told. Neapco brand, look like good ones. They came with a white, semi clear grease. The grease doesn't look too effective, almost like vaseline. Is this a shipping grease and should they be re greased? Should I replace this grease with a grease with more body? Mobil one silicone chassis grease? Will the silicone grease mix with this 'shipping' grease? My brain hurts again.........

Usually, "lubed-for-life" type u-joints (i.e. those without grease fittings) are supplied fully packed with grease. Those with grease fittings are suplied only with "shipping grease". I'd check with Neapco. Perhaps, they have a web-site.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: U joints
I called Neapco, Talked to their tech guy. Very refreshing to talk to a knowledgable fellow. That is a silicone based white grease as shipped. After some research he assured me that there would be no problem supplimenting the grease with some Mobil 1 synthetic chassis grease to replace the grease lost during the assembly proccess. I think I have to recomend that brand. The part # I used is 2-0053bf [bf for BRUTE FORCE]. Sounds good to me. They have a red neoprene seal for those the like that stuff. I love my IRS and the looks of it. Anything that hi-lites the components works for me.- Top
