    Horn photos

Anyone have photos of CORRECT drivers and passenger side horns for a 67 Vette?? My car has the wrong horns I think, but I don't know for sure what the correct config is. Thanks.

go to junk yard, search for horns off of 64 thru about 72 chev, olds, pontiac, caddy buick. their clamshell horn main bodies(not the attaching brackets) are of the configuration you'll need for the 67 vette. mike

Thanks Mike, and if I do this, how do I change the brackets so that they fit correctly? Can I purchase the brackets separately?

        Tim -

Here's a photo of a #9000488 (passenger side) horn, used from '64-'67; the driver's side (#9000487) is symmetrically opposite (and I need one of those)

          On the subject of horns.

Just re-installed the engine wiring on my C2 but I'm having trouble with the routing for the horn wires. Anybody have pictures from the front of the radiator core support?? I need to see how the horn wire gets from the horn relay to the horns.

Tim: I have 5 pics of a '67 488 horn (7D3), as well as 5 of a pair of early '65 horns (487/488 - 4J2). Many close-up details shown [courtesy of eBay sellers].

Can email the ".bmp" files to you, or to someone who can post so that all can see.

Tim - My '67 horns have never been out of car, so I'll be able to tell you the identification details you're seeking. Just advise what you're after.

Paragon sells the brackets alone part 1382 for each at $6 or 1382K for the pair at $10 - can be attached to any 60's to 70's vintage horn

I am interested in the wire routing, and orientation of the horns. Any chance you could snap a photo maybe through the grill showing these?? Thanks for the help Tom!!

Do you or anyone know how you get the brackets apart? Is changing to the paragon bracket easy to do? I have two horns now that are the right style, but the bracket orientation is all wrong. Until I can find the real right part somewhere at a reasonable price, I would like to at least make mine appear and fit correct.

                      Tim -

Horn installation and wire routing from the relay is shown in UPC 12, Sheet A5 in your A.I.M.

John, thanks for the reference to the AIM. I had already checked that out.
The AIM show the wires to the horns as being wrapped in tape. Was a single horn wire wrapped with the tape? My car had a plastic type of hose wrapped around the horn wire, which I removed. Should I have saved it?

                          Ralph -

The green horn wires weren't wrapped after they broke out of the main harness; once they broke out, they were just plain green wire all the way to the horns.
