Achieving Factory appearance for Front and Rear seat mounting. Besides the bolts and brackets in the rear, what else is visible? What is the correct placement and position of reinforcement plates, was the plate under the carpet, or the Jute underlayment? Additional tips, suggestions or comments welcomed.

Re: C-2 --1965 Seat Attachment
Denis:
For St. Louis bodies, the steel nut plates on the underside of the floorpan, as well as the 2 rectangular stiffener plates, and brackets for the aft mounts are all semigloss black. The mounting bolts are black phosphate, and the seat tracks are gloss black....same as the seat frames (I have heard that some seat track bottom sections, which is, the stationary part that is bolted to the floor, CAN be black phosphate). All hardware, as well as the seats, get bolted directly to the floorpan.
First, install your underlayment and carpet. Locate the mounting holes by poking tools like awls, Phillips screwdriver, etc., up thru the bottom. Put the seats in position, and mark entire mounting surface with chalk or tailors' marker. Remove seat and SLOPPILY cut out area inside marks, making your cuts WELL inside the marks. At the front mounts DO NOT REMOVE ANY MATERIAL, rather, cut two flaps approx 2" x 2" which hinge from the inboard side of the forward mounts. When these flaps are folded open, they will expose the 4 mounting holes, and the floorpan under the front seat mounts.
Hard to explain, and sounds complicated. I cannot send you pix. Best thing to do, is look at some cars.

Re: C-2 --1965 Seat Attachment
Thanks Joe, I’m clear on your directions, especially in the front. In the rear however,
1 There’s no flap.
2 When you look down you see the rear mounting stub, covered by the bracket and two bolts piercing the rug at each attachment point.
Lastly thanks for your information and tips.
