    C2 available in kit form?

Does anybody know of suppliers or vendors that offer C2 bodies that could be mounted on a home built frame?
The idea being to build a 67 from ground up!

US Body Source, Hampton fla. 904 468 2203 I built a 57 chevy extended cab pickup with one of their cabs. the finish of the fibrglass(hand laid) was equal to that of sermersheimer, corvette image etc. good but not as good as orig GM panels. good luck, mike

Watch eBay. I've seen a few C1 bodies and at least one C2. However, they were kit cars, and while the C1 bodies looked decent in the picture, the C2 body had that "kit car" look to it - proportions not quite right, rounding places here and there, etc.

If you want a Corvette, there is no substitute for the real thing. If you watch, you will find a midyear with a rusted frame. Or if you arent' worried about title, then you can usually find enough body parts (rear clip, floors, front clips, etc) to assemble your own.

Promax in Clinton,TN will be building a 63 SWC in the near future. It wouldn't be hard to make it a 67. Check there website at vennom.com

Forgot the Promax number, 865-457-7605. Ask for Rich Roberts.

There used to be a kit-car reproduction of the C2 roadster body sold by the "Nice Car Company"; it was a POS, and occasionally one pops up on eBay.

John, The Nice Car Company only sold about 30 1967 Corvette kits with an MSO, Don't ask me how I know! You may just see one on eBay, shortly! Dave

Knowing the good Doctor (Moral Maryland Missle) probably half of his show cars are kits.

thanks to all that responded .... this entire idea came from my desire to build a 67 roadster like the one from my home town in pa .. in the late 60's ..far from orginal ... and I really didn't want to take a "true" corvette to convert to this dream car ..the search goes on for the body ... any ideas for a good chasis source ... I have found many but none that impressed me

Hi Dale-One important consideration in thinking about a "kit" or owner-built car concerns pollution control regulation/ inspection. Laws vary between states but in OH, a new kit car is not a very viable option for someone who wants a 60's type car. There are "workarounds" but they largely depend on finding one that was titled more than 25 years ago. In any event, much more-so than the main frame, the condition of the "birdcage", especially the windshield frame to hinge pillar joint is critical in a C2. Good luck.
