C1 side window removal

Hi,

To replace the window stops and front window runner (with the white stigged felt) I need to remove the side windows. How do I do this ? When I try to pull them out I can't because some stuff is still attached to it.

The proceedure is well covered in the ST12. You have to pretty well take everything apart. I assume you have the inner and outer reveal molding off? If you are going to replace the channel felt on the front, the door post will have to be removed. There is a bolt in the front of the door you can't see that has to be removed as well. The windows have to be tilted down at the front to get them out. Rear channel doesn't have to come out, but I would loosen it at both ends. Actually, it will probably give you more room if you go go ahead and take it out. Only has two bolts, accessable at the rear of the door.

the ST-12 is the 1953-62 Corvette Shop Manual ("1953-62 Corvette Servicing Guide").
