It appears that the vent window regulators are original to my car. I repaired them to eliminate the in and out play and they operate fine now. The handles however, are almost 3/8" from being flush with the door panel with the window closed. Can I assume that someone has replaced them with incorrect repros or replacements and that they originally did fit flush with the panel? I know there's a lot of info regarding this and the grooves in the handles and so forth in the archives, and I'll be checking there also.

Re: '67 COUPE VENT WINDOW HANDLES
Rob,
The roadster vent window mechanism has a longer shaft on it than the coupe does. Also repop door panels fit closer to the door than the originals do giving the handle a gap to the round bezel. The 3/8 inch sounds like wrong roadster window mechanism. The panel can be spaced out locally to fit correctly with the coupe window mechanism. Attitude of the shaft can be a problem to compensate for to seat the handle square against the round bezel.- Top

Re: '67 COUPE VENT WINDOW HANDLES
Sounds like a combination of things can be causing the gap, including poor factory fit. I did notice that the one that sticks out the most has a wider groove for the snap ring than the other, causing part of the problem. Maybe I'll try another handle...Thanks...- Top
