Chevy Myopia?
Yes, 6V -> 12V transition was in '55 for Chevrolet but on headlights and v-regs we're talking about 'Alliance' produced parts (Delco Remy, Guide, Etc.). If memory serves the 1953 Oldsmobile with it's 'Rocket V8' was the debut vehicle for a 12V electrical system. Therefore, folks like Guide may well have had 'transition' parts like headlights built with non-embossed front lens and add-on tape stickers to differentiate voltage rating differences during the change over, but wouldn't that push the effective date of these parts back to 1953/54--WELL before a '55 Chevy V8 rolled down the assy line?
