Great last name. You might want to list what year and basic options, FI, L-71 etc.. The reason is that many experts within the organization specialize by series/year.

    Good luck

      That does make sense!!,I have a 66 roadster,327/350hp(L79)ps,pb,ko,side pipes,goldlines,2 tops,black,black top,teak,tele,AC,shoulder belts,4 sp,

There is a discrepency with regard to the numbers which I would like to get to the bottom of.The car clearly did not come with all these options which I am fine with, even from an authenticity standpoint.

I had this car inspected by an ncrs member in the state where I purchased it,and he apparentlly "missed" a few items I would liked to have known about before I purchased the car.(I still may have purchased it knowing "everything")

I know I'm not alone in wanting to know "exactly"what it is I've got.The car is easily viewed, on a lift, at short notice. Thanks for any response.Jordan

With a little reading and research you should be able to determine this info on your own. The few questions you might have afterwords can be easily answered on this board. When you are done you will have the satisfaction of knowing you did it yourself and in the process know a lot more about your car and Corvette's in general. Just my 2 cents!

Jordan, I sent you an email. While I am not qualified as a judge nor do I compete in NCRS events, as a fellow vette enthusiast with the ability to find all of the numbers and casting dates and having seen some quirky issues first-hand on my 65, I would be quite happy to help you learn more about your car and put some issues to rest, if we find something we are unsure of, we can post the question here and surely this great community will chime in with help. No way would I take any money, I just like to be around old vettes in the company of a fellow C2 owner . . . offer is open indefintely. I also want to add to my "nearby C1, C2, C3 vette owner database" !

ps - I am not looking to take money away from a qualified NCRS "expert", mind you, such folks should also make themselves known.

Youre absolutely right Terry, which is exactly what I've been doing.I have discovered many things through my research, and will continue to do so.Self education is an "automatic"with these cars.

What is happening though is,it seems this car has had quite a bit done to it since new,and evry question I answer creates two more!.

As I mentioned in an earlier thread,The car was "inspected"by someone who claimed to be knowledgeable(ncrs judge, chosen speaker at certain events, etc.)The car was purchased in large part based on this persons assesment!.I have to be honest here,I never met him,as I'm in Ct. and the car was in New Mexico.and based on his credentials and his proffesionall opinion of the car.bought it.

So you see,I am trying to do now, what I should have done "then"and actually "view"the car post purchase VS pre purchase !.

There were serious "oversights"in this persons description of the car, which I am now sorting out through research and eventual remedy/repair.As is common I'm sure,I am more than a little anxious to get to at least a starting point.I sold a 62 to purchase this car ,so am not new to the hobby, but your advice is certainly in keeping with what these cars and hobby in general is all about, education, through intense interest. Thanks!Jordan

If possible, take the car to an NCRS chapter meet near you or a regional meet - won't cost hardly anything - and you'll usually have a number of judges to talk with. They're usually happy to explain the deductions especially at the chapter level.
