1970 Seat Belts

Ive got a set of seat belts but Im not sure if the one part is a lap belt or shoulder belt. The piece in question has a retractable section that has a clear plastic cover on end end and a yellow cover on the other end. WOuld this be the lower belt or the shoulder belt? What is the difference between the two? Thanks

My July built 70 did not come with retractable seat belts. The shoulder belt goes through the seat coming from the rear compartment has the retractable piece.

Only the shoulder belt was retractable in a 1970. It had no receiver but fastened onto a button on the lap belt buckle. This end that latches onto the lap belt should have a vinyl cover that is interior color. I believe that the integrated belts after 1974 may had a clear plastic protector where the two belts joined. Is the manufacturer tag still there with the date?

The date code on my belts say 1971 but was wondering if the correct 1970 lap belt was a non-retractable length of webbing? Thanks

Yes the correct 1970 (and 1971) lap belt is non-retractable.
