    67 Muncie linkage

    Dear Members,
I am attaching the three shift rods back on my 67 4-speed. The 1967 Corvette Assembly Manual only seems to show diagrams for 3-speeds. I feel my reverse lever seems to be upside-down. Page (124) for Corvette Central shows the lever and hole facing down, as does Paragon(25) more clearly. Mine faces up and was rebuilt last week by a local tranny shop. Was my reverse lever assembled incorrectly? Thank you Thank you!

Look in the back of the AIM for the 4 speed. The 3 speed is in the front section because it was standard. The 4 speed was an option. On my '62 AIM, the page for the 4 speed and its linkage was in the back.

Also on the back of page G397 is a good illustration of the rods, retainers, swivels, etc.

Don't go by page numbers - they're all different from the many suppliers who have copied different generations of the '67 manual. Use the GM system that's in all of them - you'll find what you're looking for in the M20 option section, sheet A2.
