    1970 Seat Belt Warning Light

Is this light linked to the actual belts or does it just light for a period of time when the ignition is turned on? Don't have my belts in yet and the light stays on. Thanks for the help.

These lights were pre sensors. The light goes on when you turn on the ignition and stays on until you press the button to shut it off whether you have your seatbelts buckled or not. Unlike today's systems which stay on and flash until you buckle up you still had a choice back in the 70's. The light was meant as a reminder.

The button right below the light turns it off.
