    '75 Wheel Well Material, Color?

The material in the wheel wells does not appear to be just regular paint. What did your experience find to be the best material/color or manufacturer of the proper material for restoring this area?

    Slowly learning...

    Thank you,

    Stephen

Stephen, wheel wells were blacked out everywhere that was visible with "regular" semi-flat black paint with a small amount of undercoating applied only immediately behind the wheels. If you have an AIM, the undercoating application instruction is shown in UPC1 Seal (in 70 it was on Sheet H1).

As far as brands go, it doesn't make any difference. If you can't find semi-flat black spray paint, then "satin black" will also be close. The undercoating is problematical for the do-it-yourselfer...the spray cans of undercoating you buy in auto supply stores will work functionally, but doesn't give you the stippled finish of the original factory undercoating. To get the finish right, I think you will need to go to a special undercoating gun.
