I've noticed several times in the "options" (1967) off road exhaust. Do the pipes come out the rear or side where the side exhaust exits. Also, what is the sound like from off road? Just wanting to know, thanks.

Re: Off road vs.side
Yes the off road is under the car exhaust. The sound comes out the back not, the side. There is a differance in sound the off road exits through mufflers, and side is not mufflered.

Re: Off road vs.side
Side is in fact mufflered. The mufflers are a chambered pipe under the covers.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Off road vs.side
Your right of course. You can also buy under the car chambered exhaust, but I hear it's not a good choice.

Re: Off road vs.side
Actually, I love my UTC chambered exhaust and think it was a great choice.
Now that Corvette Central came out with prefit MagnaFlow mufflers and system, I'd likely pick those if I were in the market right now. Realize, of course, that this is for my driver car, not my NCRS show car.

Re: Off road vs.side
By the term "off road" I presumed it was for off the road and it would be too loud for in town . So I assumed it would be louder, not quieter than my side exhaust.
I have side exhaust now and with 80/90% in town driving (or maybe that over 50 thing)it is too loud for pleasure.
Is there anyone that makes a custom muffler to fit for side exhaust.I know all frames are equipped for rear but I'd rather not go to the expense of the rear panels for rear exhaust? Thanks,SteveS- Top
