Did the factory use some type of sealer below (body side) and above (window glass channel) of the lower windshield mount/moulding? When I removed my windshield posts for R&R along with the lower channel there was A LOT of sealer above and below the channel. It seemed excessive. The gasket that fits below the channel was also missing. I'm wondering if someone either over-did the sealer, or used a bunch of sealer where there shouldn't have been any.
The factory used some sealer, but not in place of gaskets. Most fplks who have done a few of tehse windshields recommend as little sealer as posible. The car will leak a lot of other places prior to leaking around the windshield.
