Rebuilding my '65 Eaton posi diff -- The local Goodwrench advises that the numbers (circa 1970) that I provided are dead (w/no upward revision). Parts involved are: case side bearings, Gr 5.536, #7451140; crush sleeve Gr 5.453, #3817864; pinion rear bearing Gr 5484, #7451155; and front pinion bearing Gr 5.447, #7450984. Cannot believe the General no longer stocks these, given the number of years of production. What do you guys use ?
They did show that the seals and side yoke bearings (the Torrington's) were still available.
Someone on eBay has been selling complete diff rebuild sets w/Timken bearings for around $ 60+. Any comments ?
