Has anyone used the services of this company? If yes, what was the cost and the thoroughness of the final report?

Re: Driveline Advertisement-Vehicle History Search
I was thinking of tracing the history of my 1967 beyond/back 1986 where I have title records. But I will not waste my time or money on a firm that does not know what they are doing. Or cannot get the info I am seeking. I thought they had some credibility as they have been advertising for several issues.- Top

Re: Driveline Advertisement-Vehicle History Search
I have not attempted to use this service although I have been curious. Maybe skeptical is a better description.
My suggestion is to first try out the "info wanted" section of the Driveline. You might be very surprised at the result and also at how many members would go the extra mile in helping you with your search.
After I had placed 1 or 2 ads, I was contacted by about 3 individuals who have helped me document the history of my car back to the late '60's!
Good luck!

Another thing................
About these advertisers in the Driveline.
I am trying to understand why we, as members and the ruling body, abide by the rules and include our vin numbers when placing ads in the Driveline publication and at the same time allow others (commercial outfits etc.), to place for sale ads without the proper vehicle identification?
Just wondering.......

Responses to Driveline Info Wtd Ads: 0 in 5 Years
Syd, You are fortunate to have received responses to your Driveline Information Wanted ads. I have had none in the more than five years I have run ads regarding a dealer in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey in 1969. I have received no responses from NCRS members that are current or former New Jersey residents. Jim Member #2978- Top

Re: Responses to Driveline Info Wtd Ads: 0 in 5 Ye
Jim,
So sorry to hear your dilema.
Maybe this service offered in the Driveline is your next step!
I for one, and I'm sure everyone else seeking history and perhaps documentation on their rides, would love to find out your experience and end result if you so choose this coarse of action. If successful, the company I'm sure would see an influx of new customers from our club.
Or maybe, you should consider re-wording your ad!!
Sometimes the smallest change results in the largest success!
I've been lucky and have benefitted from this great group of friends!!
But again why? Why should the advertisers get away with not including at the very least the vin numbers of the cars they are trying to sell through our club?
They should follow our standard procedures.

Re: Responses to Driveline Info Wtd Ads: 0 in 5 Ye
Jim,
perhaps, like me there is no information to be provided! my 1963 Z06 was sold by STAR Chevrolet of East Orange, NJ. They have long been out of business, so I doubt anyone could ever give me any information about my car from that end. Although, surprising, I found the Service Manager of Star Chevrolet on a "deep" Google websearch! In fact, I talked with this individual in person - he didn't remember much about my car except to say he remembered selling the car to a European! Well, the orignal owner was from Switzerland.Rick Aleshire

Re: Responses to Driveline Info Wtd Ads: 0 in 5 Ye
Rick, The best information I have been able to learn about the New Jersey dealer that sold my '67 convertible to its second owner in 1969 is through my direct contacts with people in Atlantic Highlands, N.J. I contacted the Chamber of Commerce and connected with a lady that lived their at the time. She told me that the dealer was McCarthy Chevrolet-Oldsmobile and closed some time in the 1970's. I also ran an ad in the local paper and contacted people through classmates.com who attended the local schools at that time. I was seeking anyone that may remember the car or its owner who may have been in the military nearby since the car had a military parking decal on the rear bumper (according to the second owner who bought it from the dealer). There weren't that many midyear Corvettes on the roads in my part of south Florida in the '60's but I remember them. I can't imagine there being many along the NJ coast at that time either but whatever ones that were must be long forgotten by the people that lived there. Too bad. Jim- Top
