I am confused on the proper pump. NCRS manual specifies the 40659, paragon's catalog shows 40482, my old GM parts book shows 40482. Happen to have both and there isn't a return line fitting on either one. My 40482 has the AC logo and 40482 stamped on the base flange. Have another 40482 w/ AC logo and no stamp on the base flange. 40659 is in a box from Master Parts Division of Fairfield, Illinois with 40659M on the box. Already have the fuel lines on and am scratching my head. I must be missing something here.....appreciate any insight

Re: 1969 427/390 fuel pump 40482 or 40659?
For the 1969 vette, the return line comes off the fuel filter not the pump. A lot of times, the pumps look identical but are different internally such as fuel pressure or spring pressure. The 40482 will physically fit and work. The GM parts books frequently consolidated part numbers. My 1973 corvette parts book lists the 40482 for the L88 ZL1 and the 435 and 400 HP motors. My book lists the 40718 for the 390 HP motor. By the way, the current NCRS judging manual states the pump munber is not to be judged but they do look for the AC logo so that's the pump I would use (maybe even the one without the part number)- Top
