GM Rear License Plate Bezel

Hi!

Does anyone else know for sure if the present GM issue license plate bezel for my 71 (I am at work and can't quote the part #, but it is still the same as in my 53-82 book) is the same as what they put on my car in 71? In a recent discussion via e-mail, someone tried to convince me that it wasn't, but I know that GM rarely produces a different part without changing part numbers. I know that at $55-60 each thru The Last Detail, its definitely less expensive than many of the ones in GM boxes you see at Bloomington and Carlisle for $80-100 each.

I also have heard that for a while (a couple of years ago?) GM stopped making this part but returned to it due to demand. Either way, it's available now, apparently.

patrick, last one I bought was about 5 years ago, when I had my '72. It was dead on. If you are "close" with your Chevy dealer's parts guy, you may be able to order one and return it if it's not what you need. I buy enough stuff that mine will do that for me on occasion when I need it. ( Besides, he is putting together a '63 convert.)
