    1963 Reference Needed

Does anyone have the date and source of the Chevrolet document that called out the breakdown of Corvette production - X # of PS cars, etc? Thanks.

    Loren -

Dunno about the Chevrolet document, but the NCRS Pocket Spec Guide has the quantities for styles, options, and colors for each year.

Noland Adams had full access to GM production records for his 'Complete Corvette Restoration' books and quotes most of the individual options by factory ECL code. Sometimes there are distinct ECL codes for a particular option when used in conjunction with others and those production figures are quoted too.

For example, it was long believed there were no factory produced 'rock crusher' transmissions in 1965, Noland even says so. But, if you flip to his ECL list for G81 positraction, there for the world to see are GM documented numbers regarding limited production of rock crusher transmissions in both BB and SB cars!

Loren, I think that John probably had access to the necessary documements to come up with the numbers. It might still be in the documents that he turned over, but to my knowledge they have never been cataloged. Dennis was the keeper of them the last I knew.
