steering rag joint james shelton i'm about to embark on the replacement of the steering column rag joint on my ' roadster i do not have a service manual it looks as though i could either pull the steering gear to gain enough room for removal or drop the column unbolt it from the bulkhead and pull it back has anyone heard of another way or an opinion on the ways i've suggested thanks james

Re: Steering "rag" joint
re steering rag joint mike ward i changed the rag joint on my ' by unbolting the steering box and gently moving it just far enough to get the joint off moving the steering column appeared to be a big pia make sure you put the new joint in exactly the same orientation as the old one and keep the same relative position between the steering column shaft and the steering box shaft otherwise your steering wheel will end up in a turned while you are going straight- Top

Re: Steering "rag" joint
re steering rag joint anthony b i changed this joint out by doing it as you described in my ' but since i had to take the dash and console out to have the elect tach and radio repaired it was not to bad if you do not need to take your dash apart and can do it as the other response did it it definitely would be easier anthony b- Top
