    TI module

I have a TI replacement module by M&h Electric in CA. in my '69 L71. I am unable to get through to their tech support line. Does this company still exist? Does anyone know the mode of failure for this thing. The car runs great for a while and then breaks up, won't idle, etc. I've gone through the fuel system, carbs etc and they all seem to be ok. Thanks for any advice.

Have you made sure that the TI box is properly grounded? A friend of mine has a '71 LT-1, and he would have odd ignition problems periodically until he made sure that he had a good solid ground to the TI box (which he originally did not).

        John----

As far as I know, M&H Electrical Fabricators is still in business. My recollection is that they are located in Santa Fe Springs, CA (metropolitan Los Angeles area). Their main product line is wiring harnesses and, I believe, they are one of only 2 or 3 manufacturing sources in the country for such harnesses.

Regarding the TI retrofit module, they are usually very trouble free and reliable----much more so than the original electronics package. For info on the TI system, especially the module, I'd contact Dave Fiedler. Dave specializes in these TI systems and has written several articles in the Restorer Magazine regarding various elements of the TI system. He sells and services TI system components, including the retrofit module. I haven't got his number handy here in the office, but I could post later when I get home.

Shouldn't have to guess on ignition vs. air/fuel mix as root of problem. If rough idle/missing is consistent once power plant reaches thermal soak, should be able to take to any competent garage, put it on engine diagnostic score and physically SEE poor/erratic spark delivery....
