'72 sidepipes??

Did sidepipes come as a factory option on '72s. I have a '72 bb, I was pulling off the rear valence and am going to replace it with the rear exhaust valence. First I wanted to make sure I don't replace it with something that shouldn't be there. If side exhaust was an option how do I find out if it came on my car if I don't have the build sheet?

Side exhaust was a 1969 option only. Lots of oter 68-82 have been retrofitted with them. Wouldn't surprise me if more than a few got them dealer installed, but they didn't come from the factory that way.
