    C2 from Western Michigan

I own a 1966 450 hp white on blue coupe that was delivered to the Denooyer Brothers dealership of Battle Creek, Mi. in October 1965 (dealer #088; zone #45) Denooyer is still in business under the name of Heritage Chevy (name change took place in 1983; they have no records past ten years) I purchased the car in 1989 and the prior owner was a Richard Boogholt of Portage, Mi. who had owned the car from 1977. I am interested in determining the ownership history prior to 1977. Does anyone on the DB remember Denooyer Brothers or maybe remember seeing my 66' coupe driving around the Battle Creek area in the late 1960's/early 1970's? Thanks

Sounds like the car spent most or all of its life in Michigan. Secy of State keeps ownership records for only 8-10 years there, if memory serves. This says you're between a rock and a hard place in tracing the car's history and have to resort to 'manual' requests as you're doing....

But, the Discussion Board reaches a minority of NCRS membership, something like 10-15% of the total and your post won't stay up long enough to be seen by all of those who do participate....

I suggest you take two alternative paths here. First, use you NCRS membership benefit of free advertizement in 'Driveline' magazine (Info Wanted) to post successive ads. Also, see what you can do to get similar ads running in the Michigan Chapter's newsletter. Who knows, you might get lucky with a 'hit'....

      John,

DeNooyer Chevrolet is still in existence, but now in Kalamazoo.

If I were you, I would suggest contacting the Kalamazoo Corvette Club at http://www.kzoovette.org or Corvettes Coventry of SW Mich at http://www.corvettecoventry.com If they have any members or contacts that remember Corvettes of 25+ years ago, that would be your best bet.

Another option would be Roberts' Corvettes (or similar name; Roberts is their last name). The Dad used to run the place, and now the son does. Dad likely knew about any Corvette around there 25 years ago. I can't find the number on a net search, but will e-mail a friend and see if he has it. As far as I know, the Dad is still alive.
