    '67 BB TEMPORARY FAN CLUTCH

While I'm waiting to have my original fan clutch rebuilt, can anyone recommend an inexpensive replacement to use with my original fan, with concern for function and fit only, like from Pep Boys, Autozone, etc?

      Mike and Rob-----

I believe that the GM SERVICE fan clutch for all 1960-70 applications, GM #3916141, has been very recently discontinued. The system still shows it as being available, but I think that if you order one, it will come back discontinued. This unit GM lists for about $200.

In any event, for temporary use you can obtain a parts store aftermarket replacement. A non-thermal unit, the cheapest type you can get, will be ok for temporary use. Likely, it will be about $20 and should be pretty easy to find. It will be a "one-size-fits-all" for 60-70 Corvette applications and most 60+ Chevrolet applications. Brands like Hayden, A-1 Cardone, Auto Temp, and many others are "out there".

I bought and installed one from Autozone many years ago, 15+ years, and it is still on the the 68 327/350HP. Guess you can't wear one out when the car sits in the garage more than being driven.
