    C2 Holley question

I have a 66 L79 with a carb that has an electric choke on it. The number on the air horn is 9834-3 and below it is 0064. What is it?

The car runs fine but I'm looking at it now as I want to make the back-up lights work and the previous owner hooked the electric choke to the backup light connector to get 12 volts. The b/u switch is missing, but I have a new setup to install. I assume any switched source for 12 volts will make the choke happy. I have a correct Holley for this car, but it looks like the other stuff that you need to make the real choke work is missing, so I'll leave well enough alone.

    Thanks

    Re: C2 Holley question

According to my Holley book, your carb is a model no. 4160 type and a 600 CFM.
The Holley renew kit for this carb is 37-720 and the trick kit is 37-912. The primary main jets are 122-68. The primary power valve is a 125-65. Look on your fuse block and see if you have a IGN terminal where you can install a wire running from your fuse block to your electric choke. Connecter here, your electric choke will have the 12 volts when the ignition is on.

        Re: C2 Holley question

You can connect the choke hot lead to the ignition switch side of the ballast resistor - that's full switched 12 volts.
