    '57 Seat Frame and Springs

    What is the best way to remove rust and old paint from the seat springs and frame in preparation for paint. Also, what is the correct sheen of black paint. Many THANKS for the information!

    Bob,
    Original seat frames and springs were (I believe) dipped in (crummy) shiny black lacquer paint. Today, I'd use rattle can enamel. Glass beading the rust off the frame/springs may be one of the easier/quicker ways. Regards,
