    64 battery gauge problem

The battery gauge on my '64 is acting strange. It recently reset itself to the bottom of the gauge. If I unplug it, plug it back in and then start the car, it will jump back to the top but be "shakey". It will then jump back to the bottom again. If I repeat the inplug/plug/start sequence again, the same thing happens.

    Does the gauge need rebuilding?

    Re: 64 battery gauge problem

    Mike,

Your battery gauge is old and very tired. It has lost it's damping It needs replacing with a fresh one. They are advertised on e-bay each and every day.

    Regards,
