Re: 1961 GAS CAP
Take your vented cap to your local parts store and have them match it up size wise with a non-vented cap. None of the vendors that I know of sell the right one. I questioned this back some time ago and was told just what I told you. Don't know wh the vendors keep sellong vented caps for C1's.

Re: 1961 GAS CAP
Joe,
The caps are available almost everywhere although there is no real downside to using a vented cap. If however, you are looking for a correct cap for judging, then that is a different matter! The old Stant and Fuller Emmerson caps are getting real hard to come by and the judjes allways look at the gasket, and any cap that has been laying around in a junkyard has a good chance of not having an intact gasket. I have seen real nice caps bring in excess of $200 and have not seen one sell for less than $100 for a long time. Let me know if you are looking for a judging cap and I will keep my eyes open for one. These caps fall into the same catagory as correct oil breather caps, You put them on for a show and then imediately stick them away for a the next show and put a repro on for daily use.
