Rebound Straps for 1961

Hi!

I would like to make a tool for installing the rebound strap rivets. Would anyone have information, drawings or pictures that would help!

Check the archives, I believe their was a detailed discussion about this not too long ago. if you can't find it e-mail me and I will sef the great article John hinkley wrote for one of the Corvette magazines. It tells you what to buy and how to do it.

Ray: if you are a member of Mid atlantic chapter of ncrs, call bill sangrey and he'll lend you the tool the chapter bought years ago from Mongoose. if you're not a member, the 25 bucks to join will be less than the cost to build the tool. mike

Ray - Two past Restorer articles on riviting rebound straps, both with plans to build tools: Vol 21 #3 and Vol 13 #2. But Mr Mike is right on - borrowing one is the best way to go - unless there are sveral more replacements in your future. Regards, Dick.

Hi!

Thanks for all the responses! I have access to a machine shop and I have an old nutcracker, if it is the right type. I like to make one for myself and to loan if someone in Western NY Chapter needs to borrow one. I now need to track down the copies of the Restorer.

John Mcgraw has one that he laoned to me it worked great, contact him and he may loan it to you as well
