I am looking at a 63 conv. that has the engine and fuel injection system out of a 64. The car has the 6500rpm tach and fuel injection emblems, but I am not convinced that this car started it's life as a fuel injected car. Are ther signs that I can check to determine for sure if this is a genuine fuelie?
Thanks,
There are a lot of things to look for. The problem is, they can all be duplicated, easily. It's kinda' beside the point anyway if it has has the later engine. By the way, if you don't want it, e-mail me with the whereabouts. I might want to buy it.
Look closely at the radiator support. I have been told that a 63 FI radiator support was different and never sold over the counter and is different than the later 64-65 and replacement style. Look for two bump outs (2 x 4 inches) where the horns mount plus the big hole for the air cleaner. My 63 FIs match this description.
