T-10 rebuild kit

I am getting ready to tear apart my t-10 trans. It is original to my 62 and probably has 130,000+ miles. The only problem I believe I had was during downshifting probably due to synchros. And sometimes it would pop out of gear. It has been 5 years since I drove it so the problems are a bit fuzzy to me!

My question is should I buy the below kit and replace all these parts?

This will be a learning experience for me.

Do you know if it has all the parts you need. My suggestion would be to go with someone who has a good reputation. Larry Fisher at D&L Transmission is one of the best. (631-351-4837) He will sell you what you need and give any advice you might need. Just my 2 cents.

One thing to ask for...

A shop I know in Pottstown PA does such things for racing or street, and they use special "upgrade" T10 synchros which reduce or eliminate the T10 tendancy to pop out of gear.

This wasn't stated so I'll state the obvious: that eBay kit is a "small parts kit". It does not have the balk rings (block rings, synchro rings, whatever), input shaft bearing, rear bearing, nor does it have the larger gaskets. In other words, it is NOT a rebuild kit as the initiating post of this thread implied.

IMHO, a T-10 rebuild is not a project for a novice mechanic. 4-Speeds by Darrel is well known manual trans rebuilder.
