    67 Valve covers

    Hi,

I have a question about the 67 valve covers. I know that there is a good possibility of a casting flaw line in the covers. My question is should part of the "O" in "cOrvette" be filled in or should it be clean. Was told one time that most people drill out the hole on 67 cover when in fact they should not have. Thanks for any help

    Chuck

Sometime durring the 1966 model year there was a problem with the mold for these valve covers and caused a straight casting flaw line through the middle of the O in the word corvette. Hoped this helped -Jon Herrick

Mornin' Chuck, The newer the valve covers, the more of the "O" that will be filled solid. As the mould aged and became more and more worn, the"O" gradually filled in. This is one of the little things judges look at, but if your car isn't to be judged, don't worry about it. Careful work with a "Drimal" will remove the offending material. Bill
