C2 Lower shock mount casting no.

I am not sure how old this part is, but I am using it instead of the reproduction part I bought. I am looking at the less agressive knurled area and not wanting to break anther spindle housing "ear".

    Tom------

The piece pictured is the right side shock mounting shaft used for 1963 to 1982 Corvettes with standard suspension. It's hard to say just how old this piece actually is since it would have been used in PRODUCTION for all those years. It was discontinued from SERVICE in 1978 and replaced by the HD shafts, GM #3829265 and 3829266. The latter shafts were also used in PRODUCTION for all Corvettes equipped with HD suspension (e.g. F-40, F-41, FE-7) and became the SERVICE pieces for all 63-82 Corvettes after the others were discontinued.
