    Boring Question!

I'm putting my intake manifold back on my stock 327/300. I purchased a new oil filler tube from Long (part #21-22C) . It will NOT go in at all. I do not want to take a hammer to it for fear of cracking the manifold. I know they fit tight but it looks tapered and I would think the first half inch or so would slide in before having to tap it in the remainder of the way. Am I wrong ?

    Re: Boring Question!

original oil fill tubes were camfered for about the first 1/8" of the end that enters the intake. No way you'll hurt the cast iron 300 hp intake. get piece of southern hard maple or locust, a large(1 1/2 # ) hammer lubricate the mating surfaces, and give it hell. good luck, mike

NO, Bubba would just use a bigger hammer, no wood necessary.
