I have a 82 with 13,000 miles. I am currently having hot air come from the floor vents when the car is going down the road, not at a stopped position. I have changed the thermostat and heater control valve. No luck. Last winter I replaced the center console cover and may have messed something up in regards to the temperature control panel. Any ideas as to what maybe causing my problem? Thanks for your help.

Re: heat coming from floor vents
I purchased a 75 vette about three yrs. ago and I had a similar problem but I had heat coming from the center A/C vent while moving. I checked all the basics but found the problem under the car at the heater core seal. It was missing. Apparently some one replaced the core without having the proper replacment parts. I used insulating rope (about 1" Dia.) to stuff the opening and sealed it with duct seal from an electrical supply house. Has been working fine for 3 yrs..You wouldn't want to do this repair this way if your car is to be judged. Not a concern of mine. Hope this helps. John- Top

Re: heat coming from floor vents
take your clove box out and you will see your hot cold control cable on top of the heater box. at the end there is linkage that operates a vacuum valve to the heater control valve in the eng compartment. make sure the button on the heater box valve is depressed when you have heat control to cold. the cable and button are riggable. if it's not, your control valve in the eng compartment will stay on all the timere rigging should take care of it.- Top
