    72 radio trouble

I am having trouble with the factor radio. It was working when I purchased the car and then just stopped working. I don't know if it was something I did while under the dash or not. I've cheched power and ground and for loose connection but found nothing. Also my wipers are not working the door opens but no go I don't know if these problems are somehow related. Any help or contacts would be helpful. Thanks

    Re: 72 radio trouble

Have you checked the radio fuse, power plug, and ground? Does the dial light up when you turn the radio on? (is it getting power). Could you have knocked the speaker plugs or the antenna connection loose? Regarding the wiper, check to see that the door, when it opens, depresses the "button" on the firewall which completes the circuit. Hope this helps. Chuck

Chuck gives good advice - I only want to add regarding the wipers:

Turn the black knob that is under the steering column, between the vacuum over ride switches. Many "broken" wipers are repaired by this simple operation. This knob sometimes gets turned during cleaning or other work without one realizing it.
