Found / Paperwork - is it yours?

I bought some old books and magazines at Carlisle back in the fall of 2003 and have found copies of the following:

1970 - Two copies of a window sticker Corvette Coupe Serial # 400227 or 408227. Much is very hard to read but looks like color is Corvette Bronze w/ Black Custom Interior readable options are A/C, AM / FM Stereo, Alarm, Special Wheel Covers, White Letter Tires, P/S, T & T Wheel, Evap Emission Control, 454 T Jet, and a few other options that are hard to read. Next to it is a note written by the owner "I bought this car new June '70. It now has 28,000 miles. With his signature which is pretty hard to read. Dealer name cannot be read. May also have a tank sticker copy also as color, interior and many options match the window sticker. I will have to study it further to tell as this copy is also very hard to read and someone has written over top of the letters to make them more legible.

1970 - One copy of a window sticker Corvette Coupe # 409557. Color is Donnybrooke Green w/ Black Custom Interior, options are R Window Def, A/C, 454 T Jet, Alarm, T & T Wheel, AM/FM Radio. Dealers name is: H & H Chevrolet, Omaha Nebraska.

1970 - One copy of a tank sticker, Date Received 70/04/08, Corvette coupe, Laguna Gray, Saddle Vinyl Interior, 350-370HP,Rear Axle 370 W/ Close Ratio Trans, White Letter Tires, AM/FM Radio, Alarm.

1970 - One copy of a tank sticker, Date Received 70/03/05 Corvette Coupe Corvette Bronze, Black Vinyl Interior, No Engine Option typed in, Rear Axle 336 W / 4 Speed, White Stripe Tires, AM/FM Radio, T & T Wheel, Alarm, Std. Brakes, P/S. This paperwork doesn't have correct font where letters are typed in.

1970 - One copy of a tank sticker: Date Received 69/12/03, Corvette Convertible, Mulsane Blue, Bright Blue Interior, 350-350HP, 4 Speed, White Stripe Tires, Convt, Top Black, AM/FM Radio.

1969 - One copy of what looks like a truck shipper copy, Corvette Coupe # 736254, Riverside Gold, Tinted Glass, Special Purpose Suspension, 370 R Axle, P/B w / Special Brakes system option, Engine Block Heater, T/I, Special T Jet 427, Special 4 Speed Trans, Side Exhaust, White Letter tires. Dealer shipped to is Melton Motor Company, Belleville, Kansas. Also have a copy of last page of protect-o-plate with date of sale. Also, for same car copy of Inventory Security Agreement and Demonstration Agreement along with Wholesale Billing and Payment Record. (WOW, wouldn't mind having this car myself)

If you can show proof of ownership of any of these cars you are welcome to have the paperwork. Note: Tank stickers have job number written on them and may be helpfull in finding their correct car.

    Zachary,

Don't know where any of those cars are now but remember the Gold L-88 well. Jim Melton, whose family owned the Chevy dealership in Belleville, drove the car to college in Emporia Kansas when the car was new. He lived in the dorm, I think. Still had the window sticker glued to the window. He raced it at the local drap stip and drove it hard. Easy to remember. Not many L-88's running around small Ks. towns.

Yellow '67 Coupe in Western NY?

Good enjoyable reply! Seems to me that the same interested people (that noticed these great cars in the 60's and 70's) are in today's NCRS. With a discussion board such as this and the DRIVELINE ads, I hope to see more such "connections" made.

I wish I could make a similar connection with someone in Western NY who remembers my yellow 67 coupe. I have lots of clues pointing to that area, but nobody has given feedback like you just did (at least not yet).

I know for the 70 paperwork, there is a website - do a yahoo search for 1970 corvette registry. You may get lucky (actually the person you contact would) and find any one of those cars listed on the registry. I actually was hoping one of the pieces was for my car.

            Good luck

If by chance anybody out there does have paperwork (its worth a shot eh?) my vin ends with 10998. I know the car has been in ohio since 1974 (BMV told me) - sure would help with my wheel question (see post on site)

Re: Found / Paperwork - is it yours?

Great to hear about the L88 car. I still wondering if it's around. As I was reading that paperwork and thinking sure would be nice to have ordered that back in the day.

I still looking for anything on my cars:

67 Sunfire Yellow, Black leather Convt. early car with an Oct 4th build date, serial # 102290. Missing owners packet including POP and only have information on last two owners from Michigan. Andy Kasurow, Pontiac MI and Richard Dix from Clarkson, MI.

69 LeMans Blue, Blue Interior, White Convt. serial # 717820. 427/ 435 car. Car has Ohio history. First owner was a woman Janet A. Callahan, from Massillon, Ohio. Second owner was Mark Malcuit, Red Malcuits son, Red raced 67's also from MAssillon, Ohio and owned a speed shop there. Third owner was a John Strauss, from Strasburg, Ohio. Missing owners packet including POP.

Anyone knowing of these people or having anything with these serial numbers on, I would be interested in contacting or having back to go with the cars. Thanks for your time.

Yahoo Phone search - Richard Dix

For Richard Dix, I looked at the Michigan Chapter membership list. No dice.

However, there are eight public phone records with the name Richard Dix on Yahoo's People Search option. (Enter Richard and Dix and MI - Do not enter the town name.

All you have to do is duplicate this search, starting at www.yahoo.com, then call the numbers listed and find your guy (formerly) from Clarkston, MI. I bet you will be finding the right one.

For some reason, I would start with the one in Birmingham, but that is just a hunch.

Perhaps you have already done this for the names you have... Best of luck!
