I would like to know what the correct paint choice would be to repaint the fiberglass panels that are located on the left and right side of the center part of the dash. These are the panels you have to remove to get to the radio etc. These look like a flat black to me. Does anyone know what finish the judges would be happy with? Thanks

Re: 65 Coupe Interior
Jim,
------Have always used Krylon Semi. Never heard of a judging problem. Make sure you dont prime the glass first as the factory didnt either. You really shouldnt even sand them. Just remove the old and spray on the new. To avoid fish-eyes try to shoot the Krylon as dry as possible. In other words hold the can a long way from the piece. Experiment a bit beforehand if you havent already........Bill S- Top

Re: 65 Coupe Interior
------Probably any mild stripper would do just fine. I have used lacquer thinner on occasion when I didnt have any stripper around, but it takes a little longer. As well, take care to wash the panel with soap and water thoroughly, and let the panel dry completely, several times if necessary. This will cut down on the chance of fish-eyes! It also helps if the panel is a bit warm,as if its been sitting in the sun. What you are trying to do is have the shortest dry time possible for the Krylon after it hits the surface.......Bill S- Top
