    67 Big Block hood

How can I determine beyond a reasonable doubt that the 67 BB hood that I just purchased is an original and not a repro or an "over-the-counter" GM replacement? Thanks in advance for your help. Rex #8089

Was it the blue one that was on e-bay? Had the weatherstrip on it...

Send me a digital photo, and I will compare for you.

In addition to the obvious original design vs. some reprodution or after-market, check for a thin seam line that runs around the entire edge of the back side of the hood. This will also tell you if the hood has been "trimmed" to fit a car with a non-original hood surround. You can also check the rivets which should be smooth, with no concentric rings in them.
