    Pollution pump date codes

    I have a pollution pump and checking the code against the judging manual leaves me a little confused. The code 1 02771S...........
    The 1 is very faint, hard to see with naked eye, different character from the rest of the code.
    027..julian for 27th day of the year?
    7....last digit of year (77)?
    1....shift?
    S...model number of pump.
    The first "1", is confusing, but very visible with a magnifying glass.

      Bruce,
      Could that impression be the edge of the stamp holder? That would be my guess without actually seeing the stamp.

          No.... I don't think so Terry. The stamp is very clear, under the magnifying glass.
