    reverse switch on 1967 vette

I am in the process of installing a correct 327 and transmission in my '67. The new trans has a reverse (bu light) switch mounted on the left side lower cas bolts. When i jacked the trans into position I realized there is a SERIOUS clearance problem between the switch and the driver's side exghaust pipe. Should the switch be mounted differently? Is there an easy solution?

should be mounted at the rear corner using the last horizontal bolt in the side cover and the first verticle bolt as my memory serves. clears fine when properly mounted.

Check your AIM on page G399 or under M20. There is a very detailed picture of the installation of the switch on the transmission

It should look like this when installed.
