    1963 coupe worth

What is or where can I find a general guide to buying a 1963 coupe. I'm just looking for a general range.

    Re: 1963 coupe fuelie

A good car that is complete and needs nothing $60,000.00. Buy a car from a Corvette dealer claiming to have the best car he has ever seen $40,000.00 This is of course my estimation for a fuelie, but why buy anything else?

Several sources for on-line price calculators were posted in a prior thread a few months ago. Here's one I remember seeing, you can find others by searching the archieves....

      www.corvettemagazine.com/CGI-BIN/CALCULATOR.ASP

Remember, real economics lies in what a given buyer/seller agree to on a specific car at a fixed point in time. So, these 'calculator' facilities can be VERY deceiving. I'd say the accuracy is plus or minus an order of magnitude!

Right, this is the good one. You can select your '63 coupe with the engine options of:
            327
            4 cyl
            409 - 2x4 engine
            409 - 4 bbl
            6 cyl

and you can get it with the Corvair Turbocharger.

Don't forget to add both factory air conditioning and Corvette air conditioning. That adds two amounts on a car than can have neither.

I just did a '63 coupe with both the 327 AND the 409 with 2x4 AND had Corvette Fuel Injection. Both Air conditioning options so it is really cool.

            $49,250 to $115,045.

            A plain '63 327 fuel injected with 4 speed runs $34,325 to $78,125.

So what was the deduct for any 409 powered version? Never saw a C2 with a 409 but did see a couple of C1's in the early to mid 60's. Never fails to amaze me how much people would pay to screw up a nice car. The weirdest one was a C1 with a MoPar B block that had been modified with a roller bearing crankshaft. Lots of $ invested; never saw it make a complete pass down the quarter mile.

I totally agree thats pretty silly. List your options accurately and I think it gives a close price to what the cars are actually going for today versus what they may actually be worth. The Corvette Mag site lists a Top Flight 69 Conv. with a SB, 4spd at 25,500. On the Nada it's 37,500. If anyone wants to sell their Top Flight 69 for 25,500, email me, I'd love to buy it for that.

I received my latest Pro-Team propaganda this week. I think they are always high on their prices. The tops on a fuelie seems to be around $60K the last couple of times I've received their publication. The low I've seen on a good driver (not a fuelie) is around $40k.

I figure by the time I have my restoration completed in a couple of years on my fuelie it will be close to the $60K mark.
