Re: Interior paint
re interior paint jerry bramlett i can give you the original acrylic lacquer codes for ditzler r m or dupont but those codes will be of no use if the corresponding brands aren't available to you what brand and type of paint do you intend to apply- Top

Re: Interior paint
re interior paint andries ter hennepe thank you for the reaction the problem is that over here in france there is no one who will have ever heard of the used paint brands i think the codes you are referring to are the ones from m f dobbins book what i would like to have is some kind of code or color formula that will match i know this is difficult but i am sure there is some way to cheat if i have the right color name that matches the original i am convinced that i can get the color mixed by someone over here thank you i appreciate all advice- Top

Re: Interior paint
re interior paint jerry bramlett you can obtain a mixing formula by going to an automotive paint store they will use a cross over or offset reference to match the original dupont color code numbers if your local store is unfamiliar with the old dupont code numbers i will try a store here in mobile alabama that sells dupont as well as european brands however i will need to know what brand and type of paint you intend to use there is no generic formula that is used by all brands each brand has its own names and numbers for the mixing colors they also change the mix for the type of paint to be used such as acrylic lacquer synthetic enamel acrylic enamel urethane etc for example if you are going to use glassurit urethane then it would be a waste of time to request a specific formula for anything else- Top

Re: Interior paint
re interior paint jerry bramlett after those nice comments i sure hate to fail you but i think i have my ' dupont color chart lists four shades of bright blue metallic lacquer that were used in in corvette interiors bright blue flat lh medium bright blue semi gloss lh dark bright blue flat lh and dark bright blue semi gloss lh dupont doesn't have a direct cross over for these lacquers to mix them in modern acrylic enamel to get the following enamel formulas i had to use two cross over charts first i converted each color to a fisher gm body manufacturer lacquer color number then i crossed that over to an enamel formula this isn't good science it's like making a xerox copy from a xerox copy you lose a little precision each time you cross over anyway here's what i got these formulas are expressed in grams to make a pint of gloss acrylic enamel you'll have to add some flattener to reduce the shine for bright blue use a s drier a violet a black hs a white a blue a cr alum for medium bright blue use a s drier a black hs a blue hs a med alum a binder for dark bright blue use ah s drier a white a black hs a blue green a med alum a blue hs now that i've given you these formulas i going to suggest that you ignore them take some pieces from your interior into the paint store and tell them to match the colors the best they can in acrylic enamel that's what i'd do- Top
