    Exhuast System

    I've been studing my AIM, and my judging manual and have a question. How different are the manual transmission vs. the automatic transmission exhaust systems for a '72 LS5???

          Only the center bracket where the pipes are clamped to the frame is differant. And I guess the transmission cross member is bolted in on a auto and welded on with a 4-speed.

              They are absolutely identical EXCEPT for the right side exhaust pipes, front and rear. These are configured a little bit differently in order to clear the larger transmission profile which the THM-400 has in contrast to the much more compact Muncie 4 speed.

                  Mike The 4 speed RH exhuast comes centered in the hole in the croosmember. The auto. has a bend and is crooked in the hole. Lyle
