    Painting on rubber hose

Anyone have a suggestion on a way to get spray paint to adhere to new rubber hose? Have tried cleaning the hose with lacquer thinner, lightly roughing the hose with sandpaper but no luck. Perhaps I should use a different paint, like model paint (thicker than the automotive paint in a spray can that I am using) applied with an airbrush. Back to it tomorrow!
    Thanks.
    Best regards,
    Charlie

Which hose are you trying to paint, and why?

If you are attempting to put on ID markings, use ink
