    C1 HEATER FASTNERS

What type of fastners are used to fasten the outer heater cover to the under dash heater box. The outer heater cover(part with the flapper door) has six holes. Thanks, Joe DeLuca #37862

Joe If you mean the ones that go thru the firewall, there are four, with the shorter one going inside bottom to let shielding clear. They are actually a stud and most of the vendors, Mary Jo Corvette Central etc. sell them. For a picture of what one looks like go to e-bay auction #2466509701 the heater box for sale still has one stud on it.

        Joe,
The fasteners you are looking for are hex-head self-tapping sheet metal screws with an indented head and washers under the head. No head mark on the screws. The same head design was also used to secure the heater motor to the heater box.
